Surrounding area and attractions

The chalet is just a 3 minute walk to the magnificent and unspoilt Freshwater East beach, with its golden sands, backed by dunes teeming with wildlife.

It is only 4 miles away from the town of Pembroke with its stunning medieval castle (birthplace of Henry Tudor) and mill ponds. Tenby, “the jewel” of South Wales is 9 miles away, Barafundle beach 3 miles, 7 miles to Bosherton Lilly Ponds – Broadhaven (South) beach.

There are two other stunning Castles nearby, Carew Castle, one time home to the (in)famous Princess Nest and Manorbier Castle (and beach) birthplace of the famous medieval scribe and historian Gerald of Wales.

Freshwater East itself has a rich history dating back to the Iron Age, with the remains of a fort at East Cliff. In the 18th century Freshwater East achieved notoriety for smuggling with contraband being stored along its many cliffs, though now it is just renowned for its beauty and clean bathing waters and achieved a Green Coast Award 2016 and Seaside Award (Rural) 2016.

So whether you wish to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the national coastal path, the wealth of its history or in the local beaches, this is the right location for you.
